How to Find the UTR Number

The UTR (Unique Transaction Reference) number is a 12-digit or 16-digit unique identifier assigned to every transaction made through NEFT, RTGS, or IMPS in India. It helps track the status of a transaction.

Steps to Find the UTR Number

For UPI Transactions (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.)

  1. Open the UPI app you used for the transaction.
  2. Go to Transaction History or Passbook.
  3. Select the failed transaction.
  4. Look for the UTR number (sometimes labeled as “Transaction ID” or “Reference Number”).

For Bank Transfers (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS)

  1. Net Banking:
    • Log in to your bank’s Net Banking portal.
    • Go to Transaction History or Statements.
    • Select the transaction and find the UTR number in the details.
  2. Mobile Banking App:
    • Open your bank’s mobile app.
    • Navigate to Transaction History.
    • Tap on the transaction to view the UTR number.
  3. Bank Statement:
    • Download your bank statement (PDF format).
    • Search for the transaction and find the UTR number.

If You Can’t Find It

  • Contact your bank’s customer support and request the UTR number for your transaction.
  • Provide details such as date, amount, and recipient to help track it.
